Community guidelines
Last updated: September 2026
1. What these guidelines cover
These guidelines apply to everything you make visible in the StudityAI community or send to other people: your public profile, friend requests, direct messages, following other accounts, and reports. They form part of the terms (§ 10). If you do not follow them, content may be removed or community features may be suspended.
2. What belongs here
The community exists for studying: asking questions, answering them, finding study groups, and talking about subjects and exams. Write the way you would want to be written to. A profile may use a pseudonym, but it should represent you and not somebody else.
3. What is not allowed
Illegal content of any kind, in particular material inciting hatred, glorifying violence, harmful to minors, or sexualised depictions of minors. Harassment, insults, threats, stalking, hate speech and incitement against people or groups. Publishing other people's personal data without their consent. Impersonating another person, a university or StudityAI. Advertising, spam, chain messages and redirects to paid offers, including in direct messages. Malware, phishing, harvesting credentials, and attempts to circumvent technical restrictions, limits or an account suspension. Exam fraud and circulating exam questions before the exam date.
4. Third-party works and copyright
Lecture notes, slides, textbooks, exams and publisher material are as a rule protected by copyright (sec. 2, 15 et seq. UrhG), even when they were handed out freely in a course. The right to make such a work publicly available belongs to the author, not to you. Cite in your own words, link the source, or obtain written permission. If you are a rightsholder and content on our service infringes your rights, write to legal@studity.ai, naming the work, where it is on our service, and the basis of your entitlement.
5. Posting study material: currently switched off
Uploading documents to the community is switched off at the moment, in the interface and additionally on the server, in the database. There is therefore also no third-party upload to download. Only these are open: public profiles, following, friend requests, direct messages, stars, reporting, blocking and notifications. If we open the posting of study material, we will amend this page and § 10 of the terms beforehand.
6. Messages, requests, blocking
Direct messages are only possible between confirmed friends; you can decline or withdraw a friend request at any time. Anyone who should not be able to write to you can be blocked: requests and messages are then blocked in both directions, and the blocked person is not told. To prevent spam there is a limit of 20 messages per minute per sender and a maximum of 2000 characters per message. Messages are encrypted in transit and at rest, but not end-to-end encrypted. Do not send anything that nobody but you and the recipient may ever see.
7. Reporting something
On profiles you will find the report button in the app. Without an account (for example as a rightsholder or an affected third party) you can reach us at legal@studity.ai. Tell us as precisely as you can: which profile or which content, what is illegal or against the rules about it, and how we can reach you. If you leave an email address, we confirm receipt and inform you of our decision (Art. 16 DSA). Do not report against better knowledge: abusive reports can themselves lead to suspension.
8. What happens after a report
Every report goes into a queue and is reviewed. Depending on severity, the outcome is: no action needed, a warning, hiding or removing the content, suspending individual community features, or suspending the account. We choose the mildest suitable measure. If a measure affects your content or your account, you receive a statement of reasons: what is affected, what we base it on, whether automated means were involved, and how you can contest it (Art. 17 DSA).
9. If you disagree
You can lodge a complaint against any decision within six months of receiving the statement of reasons, informally by email to legal@studity.ai with the subject "Complaint". The complaint is reviewed by a person, not by an automated process alone. If we consider our decision wrong, we reverse it and restore the content (Art. 20 DSA). Independently of this you can go to the courts.
10. Contact
Studity Tech GmbH & Co. KG, Seebergweg 1, 83730 Fischbachau, Germany · legal@studity.ai. The contact point under Art. 11 and 12 DSA is named in the imprint; it answers in German and English.
